In this safari tent you really imagine yourself alone on safari in this natural park in southwest Portugal. The tent stands on its own hill and in the distance you can just see the ocean. The view from the veranda is really great. Inside the tent you will find a good bed and a sitting area, but most of the time you will be sitting outside on the large veranda or at the table under the shade roof next to the tent. The private bathroom and kitchen are built behind the tent, under the large shade roof. There is hot and cold running water, a "normal" toilet, a small refrigerator and a stove. We collect wastewater centrally, it is purified in a biological septic tank and through a reed bed and then returned to the land. The lodge, with 4 tents on an area of about 2 acres, is set up with minimal impact on nature. We use only ecological cleaning products and detergents. The pool is a natural pool, with wonderfully pure water without chemicals.

The safari tent is located in the Natural Park Costa Vicentina e Sudoeste Alentejano and the view goes over kilometers of wooded hills with no or hardly any buildings. The typical Alentejan village of Troviscais with 2 cozy cafes where people from the village and surrounding farms meet is 800 meters away. The vegetation around the tent consists mainly of cork oaks, wild strawberry trees (medronheiro) and various types of cistus bushes. In the spring, April to mid-May, all kinds of flowers and herbs bloom such as wild crested lavender, a number of species of orchids and, of course, the cistus bushes such as sun rose and desert rose. Butterflies, birds and all kinds of insects and amphibians show themselves as you sit quietly on your terrace. And in the bathtub you may be surprised by tree frogs and geckos that feel very much at home there. The Rota vicentina circular walk 'Troviscais en Mira' can be walked from here and there are a number of signposted mtb routes nearby.
