If you like walking, strolling and exploring, Quinta Rural - Eco Lodge Cabreira is a great base. Surrounded by the vast ´nothing´, with the next village of Juguelhe (12 inhabitants) at 800 meters, you can walk for hours (days!) and at most encounter the shepherd with his herd of goats, sheep or longhorn cows. This rural mountain estate is located in the unknown (but not unloved) Serra da Cabreira (mountains of the goat herder), with both national park Peneda de Geres, natural park the Alvão, and the Douro wine valley all about a 45-minute drive away. After all this natural beauty, are you ready for some city vibes or historical culture? Then beautiful cities like Porto, Guimaraes, Braga, Barcelos are all within 40-60 minutes drive (public transport bus from the next big village, CABECEIRAS DE BASTO).
