Organically built Nature House in Drenthe with renewable building materials such as straw, loam and wood, making it a true bio-based nature house. Located on the natural estate De Kaampies. It is a contemporary and spacious off the grid eco-house for up to 6 pers. Ideal for peace seekers or because you choose a vacation with a low foodprint. There is a swimming pond (be careful with small children) and there are hiking trails on the property. There is a self-service organic food cupboard. Off the grid yet having all the amenities means being conscious of materials and energy use for guests. In winter, this means stoking the stove yourself for heating, hot water and cooking. Easy to do on a special stove and wood is in stock. Just make sure that children stay away from the hot stove. In summer, cooking and hot water can be done electrically by the energy generated by our own solar panels. Of course, you can get more explanation before or during your stay.

The cottage makes an ideal base for exploring the area. On the estate are many trees and shrubs and there is an organic village vegetable garden. The planted forest consists of native species. Many cycling and walking routes lead to beautiful natural areas such as the Mantingerzand, Dwingelderveld and Mepper Hooilanden. You can walk endlessly through the landscape from sand drifts to stream valleys. If desired, you can rent a tandem with us. A twenty-minute drive takes you to the memorial center Camp Westerbork. Our nature house is located about 500 meters from Mantinge, a village with a few hundred inhabitants.
