Walk to "the dike" in Volendam with its many restaurants, visit cozy Edam with its cheese market in the summer, take the boat to the island of Marken, or the bus to Amsterdam. Visit a cheese farm, a mill, museum or take a day trip to the beach. There is a lot to see and do in the vicinity. Behind the dike there is also a swimming beach to cool off on hot days.
