As its somewhat noble-looking name suggests, hand pear Doyenné du Comice is the most refined of the pears grown in Belgium. Yellow-brown in color, large, broad and somewhat irregular in shape, this pear is a bit fickle: one year many grow on the tree, the next year none! Sweet, juicy, aromatic in taste, this pear will stay with you! Doyenné is a beautiful B&B room with its own bathroom and toilet. In less than half an hour's drive you can be in Maastricht, Liège, Aachen and the cozy towns of Aubel, Visé and Valkenburg. Definitely worth a visit for a local market, to do some shopping, for dinner, for a visit to the theater or the wellness. You can also go there by bike!
