This castle dates back to 1692 and is located in the green, quiet Auvergne region. On the property, in addition to the castle, there is a house, an outdoor pool, a bocce court and an outbuilding with theater and game rooms. We (Charles and Cornelie) ourselves live in an enclosed side wing of the castle with our own entrance. We very regularly host (3 generation) families or groups of friends. For all ages, our place is wonderful. Everyone has plenty of space with many bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. There is a large kitchen in the castle and a dining room. The property is at 850m altitude with pleasant temperatures in summer. We rent castle (max 20 pers.) and house (max 12 pers.) separately in the summer vacations. You then each have your own private outdoor space, and at the back of the property you share the swimming pool, party room and lawn. The surroundings are quiet and green. Our closest neighbors are old -formerly belonging to the castle- farms with cows, and a cheese dairy. There are plenty of opportunities for biking and hiking. There is also plenty to do in the nearby mountains of the Massif Central. In warm weather the reservoir of the Dordogne is great for swimming and canoeing. There is a friendly golf course half an hour away on the flank of the Puy de Sancy. Behind our property flows the Dordogne, which is still narrow and shallow so close to its origin. We have cleared a path to descend into the gorge. Nearest places with restaurants and supermarkets are La Bourboule and Le Mont Dore. Travel time 20 min by car. With public transport you travel from NL to Clermont-Ferrand (bus or train) and then further with a regional bus to Tauves. There we will gladly pick you up.
