A self-contained cottage (gite) with an open double bedroom on the 1st floor. The cottage is in our enclosed courtyard across from our house. Downstairs; there is an open-plan lounge/kitchen & dining space plus shower room. Upstairs; the double bedroom with a gabled roof. The cottage has been lovingly restored from an old stable and finished in solid timbers; it is compact but equipped with everything you will need for your getaway. There is a table and chairs outside, and other dining places in the garden. There is no public transport but we live in an excellent area for cycling and we can offer you a safe place to store bicycles. Bikes can be rented from our local Tourist Office. We can provide a 3-course picnic meal on request - freshly made using a maximum of local ingredients - please ask when booking.

We live in a small rural village (300 inhabitants) about 5kms from the nearest town. We are 30kms from the Opale coast and its magnificent beaches. The village is quiet in a 'rural way' so there is sometimes the noise of cockerals or farm vehicles. There is a good sized garden behind your holiday cottage with trees, flowers and our vegetable garden. There are a number of quiet places to sit and/or dine. We don't use sprays and our garden is bee friendly. When we have excess, we sell our spray-free, home-grown vegetables and fruits to our guests. Your cottage faces onto our enclosed (recycled) brick courtyard. We live in the house opposite your cottage and there is 1 B&B room next door - so there will be a maximum of 4 other residents sharing the space.
