This nature house in on the border of Friesland and Drenthe has an ideal location for exploring nature. Cyclists, hikers, birdwatchers and nature lovers can indulge themselves here. The Fochterloërveen nature reserve is 1 kilometer away and is known for the breeding place of the European crane. The area is very wooded. National park Drenthe Friese Wold is nearby and with sand, forest and heathland. The historic UNESCO village of Veenhuizen is 1 km away and is definitely worth a visit. Appelscha, Roden, Norg and Zuidlaren are nice places to visit or for a bite to eat. Beautiful cities like Assen and Groningen are half an hour away, but also the Wadden Islands is only an hour by car. There are also nice cycling and walking routes in the area.
