All the way back to Basics, you can do that in our nature house on the estate. The kota is equipped with 1 double bed ( with 2 separate mattresses of 90×210). Also present are; a gas stove, 2 cup gas coffee perculator, small refrigerator, porcelain plates / bowls, cutlery, glassware, cooking pans. 2 folding chairs with a table and tea service. The bed is neatly made for you. Outside by the kota are two wooden benches and two chairs with a table. The kota is equipped with a 12V solar panel power generator incl. 2 lamps / 2 USB connections/ Radio/ flashlight. There is a 220V connection available in the kota. There are no pets allowed. Behind the kota is a composting toilet. By means of jerry cans you can provide yourself with drinking water. It is also possible to use the sanitary facilities on the campsite.

Next to the kota is our vegetable garden and a standard orchard with pear trees about 100 years old. Around this orchard is again a very old, thick, undulating beech hedge. In the "hoeswei" a completely new standard orchard planted with old apple and pear varieties, surrounded by a hedge of holly and a forest of thirty acres. The yard is not paved or asphalted. The vegetable garden is located in the field on the so-called ash soil. This is surrounded on two sides by a beech hedge. Adjacent to the house plot is 1.5 acres of land, which used to be called The Gortmeulens Ven. This is an offshoot of nature reserve 'The Pês (Castenrayse Vennen). The estate forms the Heart of the Green Corridor: the area from the Gortmeules Kruus to the Pês. The farm is the heart of the Estate. Its maintenance and management has been taken over by Stichting Landgoed de Gortmeule. In short, a unique place in Horst aan de Maas with cultural-historical heritage.
