In the valley of the river Lez, part of the great valley the Bellongue lies the village of Engomer. Coming from St Girons, this gite, 100 meters from the road, is located behind the first house of the village. It has a private garden oriented on the hills surrounding the valley. At 40 m from the gite is a path that runs through the whole valley and allows many walks. The living room has been enlarged and raised, resulting in a comfortable apartment of 30 m2 which, with its large windows, takes full advantage of nature, making it a good place to be even in winter. Please note that the kitchen and bathroom have a ceiling height of 1.95 m. The living room has a normal height. In the spring of 2024 an induction hob was installed in the kitchen. Engomer is not a sleeping village . There is a cafe with a terrace along the river , a post office , an epicerie , a fromagerie that also has bread and Sundays there is a market for locally produced products . The valley de Bellongue lies at the foot of the high peaks of the Pyrenees. The hills around it peak from 800m to 1200m . Further west it runs into the col portet d Aspet , so already higher again. An ideal area for cyclists and hikers. The road here is often part of the Tour de France. For hiking in the high mountains, the mont Valier and the col de Core are fifteen minutes away.
