About this nature house
This unique naturehouse is quietly and rurally located in Chabrehez, a hamlet of Les Tailles, Houffalize township. The house in massive pile construction was built in 2014 on a 3200 m² plot. The house is a mix of wood and Ardennes stone. The ruralhut has a beautiful view of the meadows, forests and the valley of the Martin Moulin river. On the lower floor of the house there is a wellness area that you can optionally book. The room consists of a Turkish steam bath (hammam) and a spacious 230 x 230 centimeters sauna. The hammam is 200 x 175 centimeters and has a double seat (where you can lay down on). The sauna has a powerful sauna oven. There is also a walk-in shower with three showers, a toilet and a dressing room. It is also possible to rent a jacuzzi on an outdoor terrace.
Nature and surroundings
The naturehouse is located on the Plateau des Tailles, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the area. Within walking distance you will find Belgium's largest beaver dams. Deer and foxes are regularly observed from the living of the house. Beavers can often be observed in a five to ten minute walk from the house. The landlord is a nature guide and also rents kayaks. You can go kayaking on the Ourthe, with or without a guide, and look for dippers, kingfishers, beavers and much more. Here you will find many beautiful walks, peat areas and beautiful river valleys. Raccoons and badgers often seek their food near the house at night. The rare black stork and the red kite can also be seen in spring. Crane birds fly over the house with thousands every year. Recently, raccoons have been seen on the bird feeder table from the house.
