The word "glamping” is a combination of the English words 'glamorous' and ' camping '. That means that you will still have that cozy bed, windows, running water and a strong roof over your head. It is such a different and unique experience that won't be forgotten easily.

From a charming treehouse or a firmly built to the ground tent it's most certain that you will become one with nature. And what better place than Sweden with its more than 4,000 nature reserves, spreading about 85 percent of all the surface.

With its 5 million visitors yearly, Sweden is a very famous tourist heaven. Rocky beaches, northern lights and calm, ancient forests cover the lands. There are many natural places in Sweden that will leave you breathless. The Swedish are famous for their sustainable use of natural resources. For that reason, with the help of UNESCO, they have established 4 Biosphere Reserves with plants and animals of special scientific and natural interest.

Sarek National Park is one of the oldest national parks in Europe. It is located next to Stora Sjöfallet and Padjelanta national parks, meaning that you can visit all 3 of them in one trip. From some of the most gorgeous waterfalls in Europe to fairly flat and open landscapes filled with amazing, crystal clear lakes your hike will not be in vain. Tiveden National Park is for more of a challenge even for an experienced hiker with its dense forests and rough terrain.

Many special and magnificent wildlife can be spotted along the many hiking trails of Sweden's national reserves. Elusive species like the endangered Arctic fox can be seen in the Scandinavian mountains. Or white moose that look like out from a fairy tale. Big herds of Santa's best friends – the reindeer can be found in Lapland and parts of Northern Sweden. There are brown bears, wolves, wild boars, European hare, capercaillie, great grey owl and many others hidden in the thick forestation. As well as many species of bats and rodents. Near the waters you can observe a busy beaver building restlessly on his ever-growing dam. Otters and at least 3 species of seals patrol the beaches for tasty fish. Harbour Porpoise, which is the smallest representative of the whale family can also be seen.

Many of the lakes are also protected with many camping sites around them, perfect for a picnic stop with the family. Visiting Lake Vänern is a must. Did you know it’s the largest lake in Europe? With so many fish species, it has become a hot-spot for sport fishing enthusiasts. Or go check the mysterious Lake Storsjön. Legends have it that the Storsjöodjuret monster roams this 75-meter-deep lake. Similar to the Loch Ness monster, yearly there are a couple of reports of sightings of it.

Sweden is famous with its rivers as well. Like the sandy beaches of the very old river Klarälven. Or River Dalälven which flows from the Bothnian sea into the land. That "wrong" direction flow is given the fact that some time during the ice age, the flow got changed.

What weather can you expect during your holiday in Sweden?

Many tourists think of cold and frozen climates when they hear of Sweden. The truth is that temperatures can be much warmer than you might expect, thanks to the warm Gulf Stream. Each season here has its own characteristics. The country is divided into three regions - Norrland in the north, Svealand in the middle and Götaland in the south.

Norrland's winters are long and cold, with freezing temperatures lasting for months. Usually, it's very dry around that time of the year. Summers are short with temperatures ranging from 15 °C up to 30 °C. Svealand is famous for its ski resorts and common snowfall in winter. Temperatures reach just below zero in January. Götaland has mild and short winters to offer with high humidity of the air, meaning that summer days feel warmer and winter days – colder. Snow rarely can be seen in the south parts of Sweden. Summer days vary from 15-25 °C.

Although the winters could be quite cold and dark, with the coming of summer the days get brighter and at one point the sun never sets over the horizon. Especially in the north where the sun never sets for weeks at a time.
