Cottages in Dordogne

The Dordogne is a department of the French region Aquitaine, located in the southwest of the country. The region is known for its many castles and charming villages. The name ''Dordogne'' comes from the river Dordogne. The department consists of four sub-regions: Perigord Vert, Perigord Blanc, Perigord Noir and Perigord Pourpre. Are you here to discover the holiday homes in the Dordogne?

Flora and fauna

The landscape of the Dordogne is characterized by rolling green hills. These invite you to take long walks while enjoying pleasant temperatures, singing birds and blooming flowers. On many of the hills you will find vast vineyards, probably created by the Romans. In the hilly landscape, forest areas, cultivated landscapes and river-cut rock formations alternate.

Don't feel like taking a brisk walk, but prefer to relax? Then settle down at the pool of your holiday home or drive to the nearby Atlantic Ocean to relax. The many rivers make the Dordogne ideal for extensive horseback riding or canoeing at ease. During a holiday with children, a visit to one of the many castles in the region is of course a must. Return in time and imagine yourself in the Middle Ages.
