An oasis of peace where cooking, artwork, music and play take center stage. Besides the equipped open kitchen there are a lounge with writing desk, a master bedroom, a (children's) room with two bunk beds and sink, a separate toilet and a bathroom with walk-in shower. The cottage is equipped with every comfort (incl. dishwasher) and fast Wifi. There are many toys for children. Both inside (board games, colors, cars, lego, ...) and outside (bikes, trampoline, sandbox) Senator Eugeen Donse had a country house built in 1935 in the woody Halle-Zoersel. As a politician, he undoubtedly had many contacts and must certainly have noticed Huib Hoste's architecture. Eugeen himself designed the country house in interwar architecture. In 2017 we were able to buy the cottage, and for more than 2 years we worked meticulously on its restoration. We brought all the comforts inside, without compromising the original architecture.

The cottage is located in a private forest (1 hectare) that connects to a nature reserve. In the private front yard it is great to play soccer (the goals are already there), jump on the trampoline or swing in the woods. If you want to settle down with several families nearby, there might still be room at our neighbors (Fermeneelke) or the hotel 'Domein Sint Martinus'. You can enjoy what has traditionally been the 'garden of Antwerp' with forests, fens, fields, hiking trails and the river "Groot Schijn". You can also enjoy yourself in numerous catering establishments and more locally enjoy a "Trappist of Westmalle" is really not possible. The abbey is located nearby. Tips are a walk along the anti-tank canal, a donkey ride, hiking at the Vrieselhof or for the daredevils ... illegal swimming at the fortress of Oelegem. On our own property you can warm yourself at the fire pit or cook at the outdoor kitchen.
