Unique overnight stay next to the tallest mill in Friesland. Once a worker's house, now a cozy vacation home. During the restoration of the cottage, old details have been preserved, while the house is comfortably furnished and modern. The cottage is in our backyard, is fully equipped, has its own entrance and has plenty of privacy. From the sitting and dining area on the first floor you overlook the garden with old fruit trees. Behind the high bed box doors you will find the bathroom with (sit) bath, shower and toilet. The kitchen offers an induction hob, refrigerator, microwave, airfryer, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine (small cups). Sleep on the upper floor with a view of the mill. The private terrace overlooks the green garden and adjacent mill. A short walk away (along the water) is a Baker's shop with fresh bread and local products. Late check-out on Sunday until 5 p.m.: €35 (payable locally).

The cottage is in the middle of the Wadden area, close to World Heritage Site The Wadden Sea. It is surrounded by beautiful, rugged nature reserves where you can wander around for hours, walking or cycling. In the idyllic water village of Burdaard you can enjoy the passing boats, rent a sloop or supboard and experience the unique Frisian landscape from the water. This vacation home is the ideal base for a day trip to Ameland and/or Schiermonnikoog, a visit to Dokkum and Leeuwarden and discovering the vast surroundings. Beer tasting, sports challenges, cultural outings, chatting with locals, just lazing around, culinary enjoyment...it's all possible here.
