Our vacation farm is a converted 'pleats' (Frisian for 'farm') one and a half kilometers from the village of Engwierum and is located near the Lauwersmeer. The farm has recently been completely renovated and is fully equipped. The farm has a wood stove and several floors with 2 fridges, a freezer, microwave, coffee maker, senseo, washing machine, dishwasher and 6 bedrooms with a total of 12 box springs of 210cm long. It is also nice to relax a bath in 1 of the 2 bathrooms. The house is accessible via a bridge and has a private driveway where there is room for about 4-5 cars. There is also a storage room and charging points are available to charge bikes. Outside on the terrace you can watch the sun go down in the evening and all around is the large garden where you can play football and barbecue to your heart's content.

The vacation farm is located one and a half kilometers outside Engwierum, a small village in northeastern Friesland. In the middle of the farmlands and with peace and nature all around, the farm is a real characteristic piece of Frisian history that has belonged to this agricultural corner for years and years. The Lauwersmeer is within walking distance of the vacation farm (if you go over the dike you are already there). You can even see it from the bedroom on the 1st floor. The area along the Lauwersmeer is known for its rich nature and the popular bird area Ezumakeech is just about in the backyard. With the Lauwersmeer nearby, the area is a draw for both common and rare bird species. About 7 kilometers away is the larger village of Kollum and over 10 kilometers away is the town of Dokkum with its historic center full of stores and restaurants and plenty of room for socializing. Day trip to the islands also a must
