Nature and surroundings
Krelinger Heide On the southern edge of Krelingen is one of the two moors of the town of Walsrode. The Krelinger Heide is not very large, but a particularly beautiful moorland. Light elevations are almost reminiscent of Tuscany. Heather plants, grasses and reeds are interspersed with dark green junipers and form a varied landscape. A hiking trail leads around the Krelinger Heide and invites relaxing walks in the idyllic nature. There are also smaller trails that lead directly through the heathland. From time to time the shepherdess passes by with her flock of sheep or sheeps. The animals eat grass and smaller bushes. This "grazing" prevents the heather from being overgrown by other plants. This preserves the heather plants.
