This farm has a rich history. In 1963, the church wanted to get rid of the farm. Who was allowed to buy the farm was determined by lottery.
Nature and surroundings
On the farm, with 70 acres of pasture land There are about 100 cows and around the farm both corn and tulips are grown. For hobby there are also pigs, sheep, chickens and other small animals walking around. Breakfast therefore includes fresh milk homemade yogurt and our own eggs! Aartswoud is located on the Westfriese Omringdijk and centrally between Sweet and Salt. Within half an hour you are at the North Sea coast or you can visit the IJsselmeer towns of Hoorn and Medemblik. Restinn Aarstwoud is 4 km away from the Agri- and business park Agriport A7 On the path to the farm is a beautiful water mill. The "Westuit nr.7" was built in 1560. This mill is the only one remaining of the twenty-six mills that stood between Aartswoud and Medemblik for drainage of the land. With the arrival of the steam pumping station in Medemblik in 1904, the mills became obsolete and disappeared from the landscape over time.
