Nature and surroundings
In the west of Zamora and Salamanca, where the Duero River borders with Portugal and is boxed forming the deepest and most extensive canyons -almost a hundred kilometers- of the entire Iberian Peninsula, is the region of Los Arribes. A privileged natural space in which the rugged beauty of its Granitic landscape and a rich and varied fauna and flora stand out. The relief of Los Arribes belongs to the domain of the Paleozoic Zócalo and is constituted fundamentally by granites and granodiorites. Its most beautiful and rugged landscapes have been formed by the rivers Duero, Huebra and Uces. In the canyon of the latter is located one of the most beautiful and spectacular waterfalls of the entire Peninsula: the Pozo de los Humos, where water falls from more than 50 meters.
