Because of its location halfway up the southern slope, you have beautiful views of the countryside and the hills with, in particular, the Toulx Saint Croix. On the adjacent mountain Barlot are Les Pierres Jaumaitres. These fairy-like granite colossi seem to have been laid there by someone. There are the wildest stories about who that might have been. Some talk of giants and others of witches, druids and fairies. Each rock also has its own name, such as the Rocker, the Frog, the Sugarloaf, the Chapel and the Devil's Cradle. The moss-covered stone walls and chestnut forest create a mystical atmosphere. Boussac is a small town eight kilometers away. Throning on its rocky promontory, high above the valley of the Petite Creuse, is the magnificent castle of Boussac. There is a regional market every Thursday morning.
