This cozy nature house was formerly a horse stable. You can only tell by some of the doors. The nature house is located in a farmyard, with stables and activity all around. From one side of the nature house you can even look into the cowshed. The nature house has its own entrance, followed by a toilet with sink. Next to the toilet is a separate, spacious shower. Then there is a sitting and kitchen area with a gas stove, oven and refrigerator. Pans, cutlery and crockery are provided. In the sleeping area is a romantic bed. The nature house is equipped with gas heaters, so you can use it all year round. You can take a look from the skybox into the barn where the cows stay at night.

Quacking frogs in the ditch and a singing chorus of many different birds and if you are lucky, hares and deer are also very close. Within walking distance you can visit a 500-acre nature reserve. From the bird-watching hut, with a good pair of binoculars, you can easily find a spoonbill, grasshopper warbler, a cuckoo, lesser plover and lots of geese. You can take walks of one or two hours. Explore the surroundings, such as the beautiful Oranjewoud estate. Age-old forests, long avenues, stately mansions and beautiful gardens characterize Oranjewoud. The estate is located in Oranjewoud, a forest area near Heerenveen. Here you will also find museum Belvédère, a museum for modern Frisian art, stylishly integrated into the landscape. You will also find nearby the beautiful nature reserves De Braandemeer and the Rottige Meente.
