The bear keeps watch at this nature house. A Tiny house in the yard of an old farmhouse: comfortable and cozy with central heating and a wood stove. Wood is available. We ask for a voluntary contribution for it. The bedroom is in an open attic. Under the roof with its sloping walls it looks just like a little tent. You go up via a vlizo staircase. That can be a problem for some people. Outside, under the linden tree, there is a picnic table. The spacious garden is sheltered, but with plenty of vistas across the wide country. At dusk, the bats come and at night the hissing of the barn owl can be heard. In all seasons there are beautiful sunsets to admire. One dog (or two little ones) is welcome (10 euros extra). On New Year's Eve they shoot carbide here, so lots of banging! The cottage includes bed linen, towels and kitchen towels. The kitchen has basic equipment of coffee, tea, spices. We also have 2 cats.

The Kop van Overijssel is a three-province point with very different landscapes. Nearby is the National Park Weerribben-Wieden, a marsh area created by peat extraction. There are narrow, quiet ditches, but also large, open pools. Some of it has become wetland and forest again. You can boat, bike and walk there. There are birds, deer and otters. Friesland is around the corner. There you have the Rottige Meente, also swamp, but rougher and quieter. And there is the Lindevallei, very idyllic with a bike path right through meadows with sheep. Near Steenwijk it becomes hilly and wooded. There you have the Woldberg and the large estate-forest Heerlijkheid De Eese. That's Drenthe by now. This nature house is a good base for all kinds of trips in nature. In and around the cottage itself it is mainly very quiet.
