The ruralhut is located deep in the Belgian Ardennes, on the edge of the picturesque village of Rochehaut (Bouillon), in the Laviot valley on the banks of the Semois river. You have direct access to the Semois from the garden; possibility for swimming, fishing and kayaking. From the terrace or from the living room you can enjoy the rippling water, ducks, swans, fishing or kayaks. Nearby are Rochehaut with its infamous view of Frahan (classified village in a Semois winding), Bouillon, La-Vresse-Sur-Semois and Bohan. Also the shopping town of Sedan with its 'chateau' just across the French border is nearby. The French champagne town of Reims is a 1.5-hour drive away. All necessary shops (warehouse, bakery, butcher, pharmacist) are located in the village of Alle-Sur-Semois (less than two kilometers). Specialized shops with local products can be found in the center of Rochehaut (three kilometers). The costs for the consumption of electricity, gas, water and wood are calculated at the end of your stay and settled with the deposit.

The beautiful village of Rochehaut, which means 'high rock', is built on a large plateau. From this plateau you have a magnificent view of Frahan (classified village in a Semois winding). From this height you also have a nice view of the Ardennes landscape. In Rochehaut only 350 people live. In the village itself is the 17th century Saint-Firminus church worthwhile. In the surrounding area you can make beautiful walks, such as the ruins of Montragut and the remains of the castle of Lyresse. The view from Rochehaut is amazing. To fully enjoy the hidden spots of the Semois Valley and to admire the scenery, go sailing on the charming river Semois by kayak or canoe. These take you to the most picturesque places of the Ardennes, where your car can not bring you. The visit to the animal park with the small tourist train and the exploration center of rural life are especially nice children's highlights of a stay in Rochehaut. Two major industrial Maas cities have developed 20 kilometers apart from each other, Sedan (with its chateau) and Charleville (France). These cities are 15 and 30 minutes from Bouillon along the highway. The French champagne town of Reims is 1 to 1.5 hours drive.
