This nature house is located on a 40-hectare estate with stunning views of the Pyrenees. Domaine La Flotte, near Sonnac sur l'Hers, is an oasis of peace among hills, forests and meadows. Three nature houses in one building, yet with enough distance between them. Each house has its own entrance and sheltered terrace, ensuring privacy. Syrah is the largest house, ideal for large families or groups of friends. The very spacious living/dining room with built-in kitchen can accommodate several tables, should the need arise. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, two hotplates and two ovens. There is also ample cooking and eating utensils. The terrace is bordered by a dense hedge and has a view of the forest and the mountains. One can use the small swimming pool (6 m diameter) or go to the nearby Lake Montbel, where you can swim, water sports, bike, hike or fish.

You can take lovely walks here (such as the "Voie Verte," a beautiful path along the former railroad) and enjoy the unspoiled nature or explore the area on a mountain bike (available for rent nearby), for example around Lake Montbel. In Chalabre, just a ten-minute drive away, you will find stores, the bakery, a small supermarket, a bank, a post office and restaurants. Every Monday morning there is a market in medieval Mirepoix (25 minutes' drive). It is not a far drive to the most famous Cathar castles such as Montségur, Quéribus or Peyrepertuse and impressive natural beauty such as the ravines of the Galamus is also within easy reach. Information about excursions, hiking and biking tours can be found in the nature house. A walk through the "Labyrinthe verte", a maze formed by nature out of rocks and stone formations in the middle of a fairytale forest, is highly recommended. The best time to be here is in spring, when orchids are in bloom everywhere, or in autumn when the weather is stable and still warm and the forests show their beautiful autumn colors. Besides, there is a good chance then, that you are completely alone here!
