Set in the village of Saint-Bonnet-Elevert – at the upper reaches of the Dordogne river – is where you’ll find this beautiful, spacious ruralhut in a lovingly restored authentic Limousin farm. You can truly relax in the one hectare garden, surrounded by meadows and woods at an altitude of 500 meters with breathtaking views of the Cantal mountains in the Central Massif. This gîte is located in the grange (large converted barn dating back to 1800) with beautiful oak beams and natural stone walls. In the large dining room you will find spacious wooden tables, cozy lighting, and a corner with chairs, books, and games. The spacious hygienic kitchen is fully equipped with a coffee machine, kettle, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator. There’s also a barbecue. The stairs will lead up to the five bedrooms with beamed ceilings. Three of the rooms have two single beds that can be pushed together, the two remaining rooms have a bunk bed and a single bed. The rooms each have their own bathroom with shower and toilet. In front of the ruralhut is a large terrace with beautiful wooden tables, umbrellas, a seat, and you have a beautiful view over the Auvergne mountains (Monts de Cantal). You can easily enter the sunny garden with five huge walnut trees, behind which the forest starts with hiking trails. Perfect for a dog, if you were to bring one along.

A 15-minute drive away from the ruralhut will take you to the picturesque village of Argentat, set next to the Dordogne river with a cozy pier and weekly market. In the surrounding area you will find everything that France has to offer spread across different departments. Visit medieval towns such as Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Colloges-la-Rouge, Turenne, Curemont, and further away you have Rocamadeur, beautiful well-signposted hiking trails through the forests, villages, past meadows, lakes, and rivers. There are many animals to see, including protected bird species, and fragrant and colorful plants, flowers and herbs, walnuts, and tomatoes. The capital of the Corrèze department (Tulle) can be reached in half an hour by car, and the even bigger city of Brive-la-Gaillarde is 46 kilometers away from Saint-Bonnet-Elvert. You can go swimming in one of the natural lakes or in Argnentat’s beautiful outdoor swimming pool. Furthermore, the landlords will provide you with all information for markets, brocantes, vide grenades, events, and activities.
